Florida
Some very dear friends of ours invited us to Florida to hang out for a couple of days this summer when they got upgraded from the condo they reserved to a whole floor! So,in about 45 minutes on a Sunday, we gathered what we needed and began the 12-hour drive to Destin,FL.
IT. WAS. GORGEOUS.
We played on the beach, swam in the pool, napped and one day rented a pontoon boat and headed out to Crab Island. Now, the brochures for this sandbar, Crab Island, showed happy people hanging out in clear blue water. When we got there, we noticed the water was yellow. Yes, that's right. Yellow. It was weird. BUT, it was clear and safe, and only as deep at Ben's shoulders. So we figured, why not give it a try? It was really cool and the highlight of the trip for me.
So, thanks again Ashee and Jo Nathan. The vacation was a-maz-ing. We will never forget our spontaneous trip to Florida.

Luke's 1st birthday
We kept Luke's birthday pretty low-key this year...just our little family and a lovely day at the park and farmers market. Then we came home for fresh blueberry cupcakes with lemon frosting. Being out in God's creation with my family reminded me to slow down and thank Him for all the blessings He's given me. Especially, on this day, for my sweet little Luke.

Saturday I had a lovely time photographing the sweetest family. Even though the skies threatened rain and the growing humidity almost melted us, we had a good time and got some great pics. tiny purple hat
I love love love taking pictures of newborns. They are so wonderfully sleepy and naturally sweet. Last weeks session was no different. Baby "A" slept almost the whole time and then awoke with smiles and big gorgeous eyes. I had so much fun and got some great pics. I hope you like them.
